Nnenna Podkalicki

Nnenna Podkalicki is the language arts and social students teacher for students in grades 4 and 5 at Notre Dame Academy.  She is a graduate of St. Peter's High School, received a Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University, and a Master's Degree in Education from the College of Staten Island. She began teaching over ten years ago and has worked in private, as well as charter schools, in New York City.
 
Mrs. Podkalicki is eager to share her interests in literature, science, and social studies with her students. She utilizes several forms of media and literature to enrich the subject matter, and integrates technology in her lessons to encourage students to enjoy a broad perspective and explore the world around them.
 
It is her hope that the students will not only advance intellectually, but also become active participants in the community.
 
Mrs. Podkalicki is a lifelong athlete and has played on elementary, high school, and college soccer teams.  Additionally, she has served as a coach for soccer, basketball, and dance teams. She has been practicing Bikram yoga for ten years.
 
Mrs. Podalicki looks forward to an engaging and successful school year with her students and their parents.

Full Uniform tomorrow

We will be going to our first mass tomorrow Thursday, September 12th. Please have your child in uniform tomorrow. Please do not to wear gym uniforms tomorrow because we're going to mass.

Good things are happening in 5th grade!  We had a full blended learning ELA lesson. Students were engaged in a novel study while incorporating the use of our virtual classroom (Chromebooks) to enhance their experience. Students used Google docs to compare and contrast characters in the  novel.
